HERE COMES TROUBLE

Tonight I went along to the opening of a fantastic exhibition and cultural festival at the Pine St Creative Arts Centre in Chippendale. The exhibition features Sydney stencil art, street art, zine’s, design & DIY Art. It was great to see how many people had turned up. It took me ages to find a free spot to lock up my bike!

ST2K began in Adelaide in 2003 it showcases live artworks, art exhibition, self-made publications and music, wearable and decorative artworks, and includes works from interstate and overseas artists!

I spotted a few Flickr identities in the crowd which was cool but the biggest thrill for me was getting to meet the woman who did this stencil in Gladstone St.Edie Sedgwick?

It turns out that it's not a depiction of Edie Sedgwick after all, just a generic beauty trapped in a cage. I love her little birdie wing hands.

The exhibition at Pine St will run from 1– 30 October and will operate as the hub of the festival for the month. You should try to get down there and take the opportunity to take part in some of the many live art events that will be happening. We don't get a lot of opportunities in Sydney to enjoy and celebrate our emerging artists so please make some time to go along and give them your support. Here are some photos of just a couple of the Artworks on show.
These are by Chris Tamm. He was nice.

ST2K brings together the best of Sydney’s emerging street art culture. Events include ST2K exhibition launch, live art jam, workshops, stencil master class, a live zine day, street art market and more! Artists and the public are invited to participate in all live art events. Everyone is welcome!
