The rich old white men who run our planet really don't want us to develop power sources that they can't control and make money out of. State Environment Ministers have accused the Commonwealth of attempting to curb the growth of wind farms in Australia in favour of nuclear power.
Agriculture Minister Peter McGauran has been loudly attacking wind farms at every opportunity. "Wind farms don't live up to the hype that they are ... a serious alternate energy source," he told ABC radio. "And the deleterious effect they can have on their neighbours are so serious it means they should not be allowed to get away with the exaggerated claims." Yes I'm sure we'd all much rather live next door to a coal fired power plant or a nuclear reactor...
In the USA it's the same story.
